To make great-tasting chocolate cornflake clusters, you will need:
Ask an adult to melt the shortening in a saucepan on a low heat.
Break the chocolate up into smaller pieces then ask an adult to add it to the saucepan containing the shortening (watch out – the shortening may ‘spit’).
Add the powdered sugar.
Stir with a wooden spoon until the paste is smooth.
Then add in the cornflakes. Mix well.
Next, ask an adult to take the saucepan off the heat.
Using a teaspoon, form little mounds of the mixture on a sheet of aluminum foil.
Leave to cool and wait for the mixture to harden.
You may make a ‘flower’ pattern by asking an adult to use the end of a knife to peel back the cornflake ‘petals’.
